Find your local number: https://us02web.zoom.us/u/kfZE7EScAbout Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram: With the inspiration from Thakkar Bappa (Gandhian Leader) in the beginning, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram was established by Mr. Ramakant Keshav Deshpande (popularly known as Vanyogi Balasaheb Deshpande), on 26th December 1952 at Jashpur in Madhya Pradesh (presently in Chhatisgarh) by enrolling 13 children of local Janjatis to start a hostel project. Vanvavsi Kalyan Ashram is a registered, social organization working in Janjati area for the cause of our vanvasi brothers. All round development of Janjati Society is our Moto. Established in 1952, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram has reached to more than 90% of Janjati districts of our country. It has undertaken 20118 projects at 14201 places, which covers areas like Education, Health, Agricultural and Economical Development work etc. We are also working in the field of Environmental protection, Human resource development, Women empowerment and development of Sports too. Organization in engaged in the activity like cultural awareness and protection of Janjati rights which is growing need of the society. Mission - To eliminate the chasm between mainstream Indian community and their tribal brethren through social assimilation.
- To educate tribals through formal & non-formal education system including residential education.
- To provide health facilities to tribals especially in remote areas where formal health care facilities are not available.
- To provide facilities to enable excellence of tribals in sprots especially their traditional sports.
- To uplift tribals economically through skill enhancement in their traditional livelihood as well as in new and alternate livelihood areas.
- To empower tribals through awareness generation about their constitutional rights, Govt Welfare Schemes available for them, their organization.
- To empower tribal women.
- To strengthen the faith, culture, traditions and rituals of tribals.
- To do Research & Development and Policy Planning on various subjects related with the welfare and empowerment of tribals.
Biographic Note: As a social activist the speaker has dedicated his life for the cause of uplifting tribal people in India. He has worked among the tribal communities of the North Eastern States of India for about 26 years through Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram thus connecting urban and tribal societies (Tu Main Ek Rakt).
