Understanding the Vedas (ancient Hindu texts) by Dr. Ramakrishna Narayanaswami - Lecture Series - Starting September 26, 2021

Those who plan to attend these zoom session lectures are requested to register for the course by sending an email to 'RNVEDABOOK@GMAIL.COM'. The zoom session details and the lesson plan will only be sent to those who register.

About the lecture, request from the Speaker:

Hello All,

I plan to offer 12 zoom session lectures on "Understanding the Vedas". The "zoom session" lecture will start on Sunday, September 26, from 8 am to 9:30 am Pacific Daylight Time and will run consecutively for 12 Sundays at the same time of 8 am to 9:30 am Pacific Time (Daylight time presently, when changes to Standard time in November, we will use Standard time 8 am to 9:30 am) and end with the end of zoom session on Sunday, December 12.

The lectures will follow closely the contents of my book, "Understanding the Vedas". There are 11 chapters and 7 Appendices in the book. The 11 chapters of the book are planned to be covered in the first 11 zoom session lectures. Due to the uneven length of the various chapters as well as due to the 'varying degrees of' importance of the content of these chapters, some sessions will cover more than one chapter while others may cover less than one chapter. However all 11 chapters together will be completed in 11 zoom session lectures. Detailed lesson plans for each session will be sent later to attendees. All the 7 appendices, together, will be covered in the 12th zoom session lecture.

Learning any course based on a class-prescribed text book is the best way to learn the material being covered in the session. This will also help the attendees to mark the sections in the book that require greater emphasis and re-reading as needed. The preference is that all attendees have access to my book and preferably read ahead the material planned to be covered in each session. Those who want to listen to lectures only and not want to read the book are certainly welcome to attend.

Those who plan to attend these zoom session lectures are requested to register for the course by sending an email to 'RNVEDABOOK@GMAIL.COM'. The zoom session details and the lesson plan will only be sent to those who register. Each session will use the first 75 minutes of the session (8 am to 9:15 am PDT) to cover the material from the book. The remaining 15 minutes (9:15 am to 9:30 am) will be used to answer questions from class attendees. All those who register for the course and who have received email back of their registration can send their questions on any topic of the book by 9 pm Thursday PDT prior to the Sunday session to follow. I will review all questions and address answers to as many of the questions in the 15 minutes at the end of the following Sunday class. All those who posed questions by email will also receive a written reply to the questions from me by email before 9 pm PDT of the following Monday.

Please forward this email to, and publicize these zoom lectures amongst, your friends and those in other mailing lists that you may be part of. I am also attaching two book release flyers on my book so that those who may have not known about the book or those who may not have as yet purchased the book may know the details of the book and its availability. These lectures are open to all Sanatana Dharma followers wanting to attend - not only those residing in Los Angeles but also those residing in other parts of the USA and those in India, Canada, Europe etc. All students over age 16 (high school juniors and above) will be able to read and follow my book and these lecture.
