Dr. Shinde in consultation with the top leadership of Sangha (Senior Sangha Adhikaris), has undertaken to work fulltime as a Vanaprasthi Vistaarak, spending 3 months in Bharat and 1 month in the US. Thus a total of 9 months in a year in Bharat and 3 months in US. During the first quarter of this year (January to March 2020), he traveled within the Southern states of Bharat, with primary focus on Hindu intellectuals and scholars.

 A glimpse of Dr. Shinde’s work as full time karyakartha of Sangha (Vanaprastha Vistaarak) in Bharat from January 1st 2020 till March 17th 2020.

Background of Speaker:   

  • Completed MBBS from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, in 1968, General psychiatry from the Menninger school of psychiatry, Topeka, Kansas, in 1979, Child Psychiatry Fellowship, UCLA School of Medicine, in 1981, Specialty Board Certification in General & Child psychiatry in 1981 & 1984, PhD in Psychoanalysis from the Southern California Psychoanalytic Institute, in 1989.
  • Primarily in Private practice in Glendale (Los Angeles), CA, from 1981 till 2010, but also worked as Medical Director in many institutions. Was on the teaching clinical faculty of UCLA & USC schools of Medicine and at the “Institute for contemporary psychoanalysis” (ICP), Los Angeles. Worked extensively in the field of Eating Disorders.
  • Fully retired in July 2010 after 29 years of practice. Since then, devoting major part of the time, in the spirit of “Vanaprasthi”, for the cause of Education, Hindu Society, Sanatana Dharma & Bharat.
  • On the Board of Trustees of many other Indo-American institutions such as SEWA International, USA, a multi-million dollars service oriented charitable organization.
  • Founding trustee of Global Foundation for Civilizational Harmony (GFCH)
  • Have been the Founding Chairman of Dharma Civilization Foundation (DCF), a non-profit charitable foundation, which is working towards building academic infrastructure in American mainstream universities, to promote accurate and authentic education in the field of Hindu Studies, Dharma Studies and Indic Civilizational Studies.   • Currently spending a lot of time in India, engaging with various scholars and intellectually oriented institutions, with an overarching goal of exploring possibilities of collaborative academic study of various dimensions of Santana Dharma and Indic Civilization.
